Actoplus Met Information:

What is Actoplus Met?

Actoplus Met is a combination of two oral diabetes medications, pioglitazone and metformin, prescribed to treat Type 2 diabetes. Along with diet and exercise, it helps control blood sugar levels. Pioglitazone, a thiazolidinedione, increases the body’s sensitivity to insulin, aiding in its use; metformin, a biguanide, helps decrease glucose absorption and increases the response to insulin. This medication is not used to treat Type 1 diabetes.

How do I take Actoplus Met?

Actoplus Met is administered as a coated tablet that is taken orally once or twice a day, with food, depending on the dosage strength and requirements of the prescription. Dosing frequency will vary by patients according to their medical profile. Take this medication only as directed. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, split, or chew the tablet.
