What is albuterol sulfate?

Albuterol sulfate, or albuterol for short, is a bronchodilator and a beta blocker. It works by relaxing the lungs and opening airways to allow more air to enter and make breathing easier. Albuterol sulfate inhalers are commonly prescribed for asthma attacks, and may even be used to treat bronchospasms from extreme physical activity or allergies.
