Avar-E Ls Information:
What is Avar-E LS?
Avar-E LS is an antibiotic containing sulfacetamide sodium and sulfur. It comes as an emollient cream and is applied directly to the skin to treat rosacea, acne, and seborrheic dermatitis. When used regularly, it may help relieve redness, swelling, and irritation caused by these skin conditions. Sulfur acts as a drying agent and also promotes shedding of the top layer of skin.
How do I take Avar-E LS?
Always wash your hands before and after using Avar-E LS. Apply the cream in a thin layer to the affected skin areas, avoiding your eyes, nose, and mouth. Do not bandage or otherwise cover the treated areas unless your doctor has instructed you to do so.
Before taking Avar-E LS, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic or sensitive to sulfa drugs
- You have any other known allergies
- You have kidney disease
- You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant
What are the possible side effects of taking Avar-E LS?
Serious side effects of Avar-E LS are rare, but this topical medication may cause some skin irritation, especially when first applied. This irritation may include stinging, burning, itching, redness, or unusual warmth. These side effects will likely go away on their own, but if they do not, or if they become bothersome, tell your doctor. Stop using Avar-E LS and call your doctor immediately if you have joint pain, mouth sores, a fever, or a new or worsening skin rash.
What if I forget to take a dose of Avar-E LS?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and get back to your regular schedule. Do not apply more of the cream than you normally would in an effort to catch up.
How do I store Avar-E LS?
Keep the lid on your Avar-E LS medication tightly sealed when you’re not using it. Store this topical cream at room temperature, away from moisture and bright light. Keep it out of reach of any children or pets in your home.
What happens if I overdose on Avar-E LS?
It is unlikely that you will overdose on Avar-E LS when applying it to your skin. However, the medication may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone in your household has ingested some of this emollient cream, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 to find out what to do.
Warnings
If you get any of the Avar-E LS cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with water immediately. Avoid applying Avar-E LS to sunburned, irritated, broken, or otherwise damaged skin. Do not use other skin products on the treated areas without first consulting your doctor.
