What is Cyclosporine Modified?
Cyclosporine Modified is a generic immunosuppressant drug that is used with other medications to prevent transplant rejection in people who have received liver, heart, or kidney transplants. It is also used to treat symptoms caused by rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Cyclosporine Modified works by decreasing the immune system’s activity. Cyclosporine Modified is also sometimes used to treat Crohn’s disease, or to prevent organ rejection in patients who have received cornea or pancreas transplants.
How do I use Cyclosporine Modified?
Cyclosporine Modified is available in capsule form or as a liquid to be taken orally, and it is typically prescribed to be taken 2 times per day, at the same time each day.
Cyclosporine (modified) oral solution must be mixed with a liquid before taken and it may be mixed with apple juice or orange juice. Do not mix it with milk.
Follow the directions on your medication packaging carefully. Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Before using Cyclosporine Modified, tell your doctor if:

You are taking any of the following types of medication: angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, angiotensin II receptor antagonist, antifungal medication, calcium channel blocker, cholesterol-lowering medication, diuretic, HIV protease inhibitor, oral contraceptives, or potassium supplements

tell your doctor if you have or have ever had low cholesterol, low levels of magnesium in your blood, liver disease, or any condition that makes it difficult for your body to absorb nutrients

tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding
Additional precautions:

if you are taking sirolimus (Rapamune), make sure that you take it at least 4 hours after you take Cyclosporine Modified

Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit while taking Cyclosporine Modified.

Talk to your doctor before having any vaccinations while using this medication.
- This drug may cause extra tissue growth in your gums. Be sure you brush your teeth regularly and carefully and that you see a dentist regularly during your treatment with this drug.
What are the possible side effects of using Cyclosporine Modified?

What if I forget to use a dose of Cyclosporine Modified?
Take your missed dose of Cyclosporine Modified as soon as your remember to take it. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue to take the medication as prescribed. Do not take a double dose of Cyclosporine Modified.
How do I store Cyclosporine Modified?
