The Invega drug is typically taken once a day with or without food (or as otherwise directed by your doctor). It is important to swallow the tablets whole with water rather than breaking them up or chewing them. To help you remember to take your medication, try to take it at the same time every day.

Inform your doctor right away if you experience any uncommon but serious side effects, including unusual mood changes, tremors, muscle spasms, difficulty swallowing, or signs of infection.
What if I forget to take a dose of Invega?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosing schedule.
How do I store Invega?
Store Invega at room temperature, away from light and moisture and out of reach of children and pets. If you no longer need this medication and are unsure how to safely dispose of it, talk to your pharmacist or local waste disposal company.
What happens if I overdose on Invega?
Overdosing on the Invega drug can lead to extreme drowsiness or dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or uncontrollable movements. If you have overdosed on this medication, or you suspect someone in your household has, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
Warnings
In some rare cases, Invega has caused rises in blood sugar levels, which can cause or worsen diabetes. There have also been reports of Invega causing significant weight gain and a rise in blood cholesterol, which increases the risk of heart disease. Talk to your doctor about these risks and your medical history before taking this medication. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medication affects you, as it sometimes causes dizziness and drowsiness. You should also avoid activities that may cause you to overheat, as Invega can make you sweat less and increase your risk of heat stroke.
