Vanos is a topical cream that contains a corticosteroid called fluocinonide. Fluocinonide is a high-potency corticosteroid which is one reason why it is more expensive than others. What are the possible side effects of taking Vanos?

Possible side effects from using Vanos include burning, itching, stinging, dryness, acne or redness at the site of application. If you forget to apply a dose of Vanos, apply the missed dose whenever you remember, but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular regimen. Do not apply two consecutive doses to try to make up for a missed one.

How do I store Vanos?

Store tubes of Vanos at a room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of reach of young children and pets.

What happens if I overdose on Vanos?

Topical overdose on Vanos is not likely, but might occur with chronic use. Signs include extreme fatigue, weight loss, headache and vision problems. Chronic use of corticosteroids, especially potent ones like Vanos, can weaken the body’s natural immune response overtime. If you experience signs of an infection, tell your doctor as soon as possible. If someone has accidentally ingested Vanos, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

Warnings

Chronic use of Vanos can increase your risk of getting an infection. Treatment with this medication should not exceed more than two weeks at a time. Tell your doctor if your skin condition is not improving or getting worse from treatment.
