What is Clenia?
Clenia is in a class of drugs known as sulfa antibiotics. It helps to treat some skin conditions—including acne vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis, and rosacea—by killing the bacteria that is causing skin irritation, inflammation, and redness.
How do I use Clenia?
Apply Clenia once daily, unless your doctor or dermatologist has instructed you to use it more frequently. Wash and dry the affected skin before each use. If you’re using the emollient cream form, apply a thin layer to the affected areas and gently rub it in until it is no longer visible. If you’re using the foaming wash, wet your skin, apply the wash, and massage it until it lathers. Rinse the wash off and pat your skin dry.
Before using Clenia, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to this or any other medications
- You are using any other prescription or non-prescription drugs, supplements, or face washes
- You have kidney disease
- You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant
What are the possible side effects of using Clenia?

What if I forget to use a dose of Clenia?

How do I store Clenia?
Store Clenia at room temperature (59 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Make sure the lid remains tightly sealed when you’re not using the medication, and keep the tube or bottle out of reach of any children or pets in your home. If you’re no longer using this skin medication or it has expired, talk to your pharmacist to determine how to safely dispose of it.
What happens if I overdose on Clenia?
You are unlikely to overdose on Clenia when applying it to your skin, but it may be dangerous if swallowed. Call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 to find out what to do if you or one of your family members has swallowed some of this medication.
Warnings
Do not apply Clenia to areas where you have cracked skin or open wounds. Keep this medication away from your eyes, nose, and mouth. If you do get some of the cream or foam in any of these areas, use cool water to rinse the medication off immediately.
