What is Differin?

Differin is a topical acne treatment for acne vulgaris. Differin contains adapalene, a third-generation retinoid. Retinoids are very effective at treating acne as they help the skin to extrude comedones and prevent new ones from forming. Comedones are the dead skin cells and sebum that combine to block the pores of the skin, resulting in inflammation and irritation.  The efficacy of adapalene is comparable to that of other retinoids like tretinoin but with fewer side effects. Retinoids can cause redness, dryness, and irritation of the skin in treated areas, but adapalene seems to cause less of this irritation.

How do I take Differin?
