What is Finacea?
Finacea is made from an acid that occurs naturally in a type of yeast found on normal skin. For pharmaceuticals, this acid is engineered from a fatty acid. It works as an anti-inflammatory, and can reduce the symptoms associated with rosacea. Finacea treats flare-ups of rosacea that exhibit papules and pustules.
How do I take Finacea?
Print out your Finacea coupon from HelpRx to reduce the Finacea retail cost of your prescription in your pharmacy. Finacea is a topically applied gel. Before taking Finacea, tell your doctor if:
While taking Finacea, try to avoid spicy foods, alcohol, and any drinks served at a hot temperature. All have been known to trigger flare-ups of rosacea. Use mild soaps and lotions to cleanse your skin before applying Finacea. Apply cosmetics only after Finacea has dried.
What are the possible side effects of taking Finacea?
The most common side effects of Finacea include itching, burning, stinging, and dry skin. In rare instances, some patients experience hypopigmentation (the loss of skin pigmentation), resulting in skin discoloration.
What if I forget to take a dose of Finacea?
If you forget to apply Finacea, apply it as soon as you remember. Do not apply a double dose to catch up.
How do I store Finacea?
Store Finacea in a dry area at room temperature.
What happens if I overdose on Finacea?
Take Finacea as prescribed. There are no contraindications for using Finacea.
Warnings
Skin irritation is a normal side effect of Finacea during the first two weeks of use. If your skin continues to feel irritated, stop using Finacea and contact your physician to prescribe an appropriate course of action. Make sure to keep Finacea away from your eyes.
