Rosadan Information:
What is Rosadan?
Rosadan is a topical antibiotic used to treat rosacea. It works by killing the bacteria that causes the condition, reducing facial redness and inflammation in the process. It is available as a gel or cream.
How do I take Rosadan?
Wash the affected skin before each Rosadan application, and rub in a thin layer of the medication once your skin has dried. Keep gently rubbing until the cream or gel is no longer visible on your skin. Use Rosadan for as long as your doctor has instructed you to, even if your skin has cleared up before the end of the treatment. Because Rosadan is an antibiotic, stopping your treatment too soon may cause the bacteria responsible for your condition to become resistant to the medication.
Before taking Rosadan, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to this or any other medications
- You are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medications or supplements
- You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant
What are the possible side effects of taking Rosadan?
Rosadan may cause mild skin irritation or burning at the application site. It may also cause mild nausea, numbness in your hands or feet, or a metallic taste in your mouth. If you have any side effects that worry you, or if you experience severe stinging or burning when you apply Rosadan, call your doctor immediately. If you begin experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as facial swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing, get emergency medical attention.
What if I forget to take a dose of Rosadan?
Apply the missed dose of Rosadan as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. If this is the case, skip the missed application and get back to your usual application schedule.
How do I store Rosadan?
Keep the cap on your tube of Rosadan tightly sealed when you’re not using the medication. Store this drug at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Do not leave it anywhere that children or pets could easily access it. If you no longer need this topical medication or it has expired, ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of it.
What happens if I overdose on Rosadan?
You are unlikely to overdose on Rosadan when using it topically. However, swallowing this medication may be harmful. If you or someone in your household has swallowed some of the Rosadan gel or cream, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 right away.
Warnings
Keep Rosadan gel or cream away from your eyes, nose, mouth, and vagina. If you do get the medication in any of these areas, rinse with water immediately. Let your doctor know if you don’t see any improvement or if you skin condition gets worse while you are using this topical drug.
