Anoro Ellipta Information:
What is Anoro Ellipta?
Anoro Ellipta a respiratory drug that contains a combination of the medications umeclidinium and vilanterol and is prescribed to treat COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis) and its symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Umeclidinium is an anticholinergic; vilanterol is a long acting beta agonist (LABA). Anoro Ellipta works by relaxing air passages in the lungs so they can open, making breathing is easier.
How do I take Anoro Ellipta?
Anoro Ellipta is a dry powder administered once a day using a specially designed inhaler. Prior to using this medication and its delivery device for the first time, ask your healthcare provider to demonstrate the procedure and then practice the technique in his or her presence until you feel comfortable with using it. Refer to the directions that come with the medication for further instruction. Be sure to label the “Tray Opened” blank with the date you first open the packaging, and the “Discard” blank with the date six weeks from the day you opened the package so you know when to replace the inhaler. If necessary, the mouthpiece of the inhaler can be cleaned with a dry tissue.
