What is Daklinza?
Daklinza is an antiviral drug that is prescribed along with sofosbuvir to treat chronic hepatitis C gentotype 3 infections, an especially difficult to treat type of hepatitis C. It works by Inhibiting the replication of hepatitis C viral RNA.
How do I take Daklinza?
Daklinza pills should be taken once daily with or without food. The normal dosage is 60mg per day. This medication should be taken in conjunction with sofosbuvir (Solvaldi), another antiviral drug, in order for it to be the most effective. Daklinza is normally taken for 12 weeks. Your dosage may need to be adjusted to meet your individual requirements. Always follow your doctor’s dosing instructions.
Before taking Daklinza, tell your doctor if:
- You are taking any other prescription or nonprescription drugs, especially other antiviral drugs, phenytoin, rifampin, St. John’s wort, carbamazepine, antibiotics, cholesterol medications, antifungals and any others.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have had a liver transplant.
- You are allergic to any medications or any of the ingredients in Daklinza pills.
- You have any heart conditions.
What are the possible side effects of taking Daklinza?
Common side effects from taking Daklinza include headache and fatigue. If these side effects are severe or don’t go away, tell your doctor. Daklinza and sofosbuvir may slow your heart rate. Get medical attention or tell your doctor immediately if you have shortness of breath, confusion, memory problems or chest pain. Also tell your doctor right away if you faint or feel lightheaded or if you’re feeling unusually weak.
What if I forget to take a dose of Daklinza?
If you miss a dose of Daklinza and remember it the same day, take the missed dose. If you have already missed a day, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular routine. If you miss more than one dose, ask your doctor what to do.
How do I store Daklinza?
Store Daklinza pills at a temperature between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the medication out of reach of children and pets.
What happens if I overdose on Daklinza?
Signs of overdose on Daklinza may include exaggerated side effects. If you think you or someone you know has overdosed on Daklinza, seek medical attention or call 911.
Warnings
Daklinza taken concomitantly with sofosbuvir can cause the heart rate to slow. If you have a heart condition or are taken a heart medication, be sure to tell our doctor.
